What is Chanopedia?

Why Chanopedia?

Chan (陳) is the surname of our children. Its a Chinese family name which according to history dates back to 1047 BC and that’s a long time ago. Probably the most famous Chan on earth is Jackie Chan (陳港生, known professionally in Chinese as 成龍), Academy Award-winning actor and very known for his action movies.

In Japan, its used as an honorific and can be used to addressed cute younger girls which ties in perfectly to our trio of girls

Below is a video of how to write Chan in its different strokes.

And as to the encyclopedia part, it’s more of wanting to keep a record of things that we felt were important in the life of our children so it was a toss up between encyclopedia or chronicle and we think it was way more elegant to be a chanopedia than chanronicle.

Here you will find quintessential recipes that we know our girls (or your children) will use time and again in their lives as they grow up to start their own households or even when they make the first move to live on their own. You will also find tips and ideas which I hoped I was told before I embarked on adulthood.  This is the place where I will curate and create the information for them.

Chanopedia aims to share interesting information, tips and knowledge aim for young children.  All information shared on Chanopedia is opened to the public. We hope you enjoy browsing our website and see you back soon!
